MarinaChain (CEO Ha Seong-yeop), a tech startup specializing in maritime and logistics digital transformation, announced on July 2 that it won second place at the 6th Valencia Port Hackathon in Spain, a prestigious European innovation competition for the port and logistics sector.

The Valencia Port Hackathon is a world-renowned port tech competition organized by the Port Authority of Valencia (APV), Fundación Valenciaport, and global innovation hub Opentop, with participation from global corporations such as Hitachi Energy. Held over two days at the historic Edificio del Reloj in Valencia, the event featured nine shortlisted global finalists competing at the highest technical level.

At the competition, MarinaChain earned widespread acclaim from judges and the local port community for its "Resilience Cockpit Solution"—a system designed to coordinate real-time operational disruptions across interconnected stakeholders, including terminals, transport fleets, vessels, and ground crews.

The solution delivers continuous signal monitoring, AI-driven incident orchestration, time-sensitive standard operating procedure (SOP) guidance, and mobile-based collaboration workflows. It was particularly recognized for providing full traceability across all recommendations, approvals, and actions—effectively resolving critical communication gaps in complex port ecosystems.

By taking second place, MarinaChain secured a €3,000 cash prize sponsored by the Juan Arizo Serrulla Foundation along with an opportunity to execute a sandbox pilot project at the Port of Valencia. The company also received key incentives for European expansion, including a presentation slot at the Port Entrepreneurship International Congress (PEIC) in October and a complimentary one-year membership with Startup Valencia.
