Busan-based blockchain company MarinaChain is accelerating its AI business development in the maritime and logistics sectors, following its award at a European AI competition and pursuing collaboration with LG CNS.

Busan Technopark announced on the 8th that MarinaChain, a tenant company at its Blockchain Center, proved its technological capability and business viability by taking third place in the startup pitching contest 'Supernova Challenge' at 'GITEX AI Europe 2026' held in Germany.

Taking this opportunity, MarinaChain established a foundation for collaboration with LG CNS and set out to commercialize its AI technology and expand its market presence in the maritime and logistics fields.

MarinaChain possesses AI-based technology to extract, analyze, and standardize unstructured data generated at maritime sites, such as vessel noon reports, invoices, and contracts.

Through this technology, the company structures data centered around manual reports and PDF documents, supporting greater efficiency in data collection, verification, and settlement processes required to comply with global carbon regulations such as the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) and FuelEU Maritime regulations.

The two companies plan to expand their cooperation around automated processing of maritime field data, business process improvement, and the enhancement of carbon regulation compliance solutions by combining Marina Chain's maritime-specialized AI technology with LG CNS Entrue Consulting's AI Transformation (AX) consulting and digital transformation capabilities.

An official from Busan Technopark stated, "MarinaChain is concrete-proof of business results, securing recognition for its technology in the global market while expanding collaboration with a major domestic enterprise," adding, "We will continue to actively support technology enhancement, commercialization, and domestic and international partnership expansion for companies residing in the Blockchain Center and participating in cluster initiatives."
