As part of the 2024 Global Acceleration Program (GMEP) for logistics and distribution—hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, organized by the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED), and executed by the Korea Integrated Logistics Association in partnership with Sunflower Investment (China)—promising South Korean startups participated in the 5th China Development Zone Innovation & Development Conference hosted by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) to present their success stories.

The China Development Zone Innovation & Development Conference is an annual flagship event hosted by MOFCOM and organized by Longyun Qiance, a subsidiary of Longyun Group, one of China's top 100 private enterprises. Designed to bolster an innovation-driven industrial ecosystem, the conference gathers Chinese local governments, investors, state-owned and private conglomerates, tech startups, and global partners to construct 100 net-zero carbon industrial parks and promote cross-border investments and corporate exchanges.

The 5th edition of the conference was held on October 16–17, 2024, at the Shanghai Financial Information Center in Pudong, Shanghai. Through collaboration between GMEP execution partner Sunflower Investment and Longyun Qiance, eight outstanding South Korean startups attended the event.

On October 16, a specialized sub-forum titled "CDI Bohai Rim Regional Industrial Innovation and Development" was co-organized by MOFCOM, the Shanghai Shandong Chamber of Commerce, and the Weihai Comprehensive Bonded Zone. The session featured welcoming remarks from Huang Qinghong, Director at MOFCOM's Investment Promotion Agency; Deng Zhijian, Party Committee Secretary of the Weihai Comprehensive Bonded Zone; and Gao Hongwen, President of the Shanghai Shandong Chamber of Commerce. Following the opening, three startups—Gaon Platform, MarinaChain, and Oilex—presented their best practice case studies.

Opening the presentation session, Ha Seong-yeop, CEO of MarinaChain, introduced an AI-powered solution that analyzes complex documentation across the maritime, heavy industry, and logistics sectors to manage carbon emissions. He highlighted the platform's capabilities ranging from real-time vessel performance monitoring and environmental compliance to brokering carbon credit trades on a global scale.

The presentations were followed by an interactive Q&A and panel discussion, drawing high interest from Chinese corporate leaders, government officials, and investors. The session concluded with calls for active partnership and ongoing cooperation between Chinese entities and the participating startups.
